Who is a Volunteer Assistant Caregiver?
This is a person who is over the age of 18 and has been accepted as a Volunteer Assistant Caregiver (VCA) by the administrative team at Heart of Mary House.
If the VCA is unable to be at the house during their designated time and day, they should contact the administrative team as soon as possible.
This volunteer role is critical as we expand into our new location and add residents to the home.
Prefer volunteers in this role, but we will also supplement with paid staff when necessary.
VCA reports to the Caregiver on duty.
Shift times are just whenever the assistant is available. Typically the hours are anywhere between 8a-8p. Our preference is that the assistant is scheduled on a regular basis in order to stay up to date on house happenings, etc…
Responsible for the following:
- Assist with personal care of the residents
- Assist with meal prep and feeding residents
- Oversee the general volunteers present in the home
- Other household duties as needed
